So I have been getting a little behind in my updates. I decided to try to post every other day. The fourth was my best day to date. I won a total of $210.86. $64.35 was in cash games. Then I played in the daily double tournament and finished in the money in both. There were almost 1,300 people in each tournament and the top 180 got money back. I finished 139th and in the other one I finished 13th. The two tournaments came to a profit of $110.01 plus I received a bonus for cashing in both which was $36.40. It was the first time I have ever cashed in both. There were only 37 people who double cashed out of 1,300. So I guess it is harder than I thought to cash in both. The fifth was not nearly as good of a day. I did manage to have a winning day bringing in $21.90. So my two day total was $232.76.

After yesterdays great comeback, I decided to continue to play at the $25 NL tables. I started off pretty good and continued to play well all day. I posted my graph for the day below. You can see that there were a few bumps in the road. But for the most part, I was stacking up chips and more chips. I ended the day up $84.25 putting me at +$200.36 for the week. My total also climbed back up over the $1,000 mark coming in at $1076.47.

Today started off pretty bad. I was down at one point $90 and was playing in the $50 NL rooms. I decided to take a break and next session drop down to playing the $25 NL rooms. It was a good decision. I played very well and began my comeback. Little by little I started climbing back up. I fell a bit short of even but, losing $12.15 for the day is much better than $90. So I was able to avoid a desasterous day by taking a break to regroup and drop down a level. Most poker players would try to step up thinking that is the only way they would be able to get to even for the day. I am thinking long term though. A losing day doesn’t bother me that much. I am thinking weeks and months and not in terms of days. The lost dropped my total to under a grand. I now stand at $992.22 but, I am still up $116.11 for the week.

It was the beginning of a new month today and I wanted to get off to a good start. I have been playing pretty well lately and today was no different. I was up $30 playing in cash games so, I decided to play in the daily double tournament that night. It cost $24 to enter both tournaments. I figured worst I could do is win $6.65 for the day. Unfortunately that is exactly what happened. I did not play all that well in the tournaments today. I need to work on my tournament game. Especially since I want to play in the World Series of Poker next year. It was still a winning day which is always good. My total for the week is $121.61 and my grand total is grand at $1004.37.
7/31 Day 51
I was looking to have another good day to close out the month of July. I got out of the gates quickly and never looked back. I had to work at the magic shop today so I only got to play 3 1/2 hours. I was still able to win $71.50 averaging $20.43/hour. In the past couple of weeks I have increased my hourly rate from just under $1/hour to $2.67/hour for the month. I ended up the month of July winning $573.40. I am very happy with my results for the month. I went through a bad stretch but, I have seemed to iron out those problems. For the week I am up $121.61 and my total has ascended to $997.72. I am nearly to the $1,000 mark. Here is what my graph looks like for the month of July.
7/30
Got out of the gates quickly again today. I played very well and caught a couple of big hands. I decided that I was going to play in the daily double tournament tonight. It is 2 tournaments that run at the same time and you get a bonus if you finish in the money in both and another bonus if you finish the highest in both. I figured if I lost in both I would still be up over $60 for the day so I took a shot. After the first hour things were not looking good. I was down to $800 in chips in both tournaments. I knew that I would have to take a few chances to get my hands on some chips. I got knocked out in one and in the other I caught a couple of hands and was able to build up my stack. I was able to get as high as 63rd place with 200 people to go. The top 180 out of 1,228 finished in the money. I was moving along great until my KK ran into Aces. My stack to a big hit but I was able to finish in the money and ended up in 153rd place. Not a bad result considering after the first hour I thought I had no shot. So I ended up winning $86.90 in cash games and lost $6.81 in the two tournaments. My end result was $80.11. Not a bad day at all. That brings my total for the week to +$50.11 and my grand total up over 900 at $926.22. I am almost half way to one of my goals which was to build my bankroll to $2,000. So I am feeling pretty good about the way I have been playing. I have learned a lot and I am trying to continue learning each day.
7/29
Today started off great. I was up $29 in my first session. The rest of the day did not go so well. I flopped two pair a couple of times only to find out that another player had flopped three of a kind. So I ended up losing a couple of big pots. I managed to win one here and there but, for the most part things were just not going my way. I still played pretty well and made good decisions. I finished the day down $17.60. It seems like today should have been a lot worse. I think that by tweaking my playing style a bit that I am able to lose less on a bad day. Hopefully my disaster days of losing $50-$100 are a thing of the past.
I am now down only $30 for the week and my total dropped a bit to $846.11. Strangely enough I feel more confident after the past two days. It’s kinda like surviving a bad storm. The bad hands kept coming down like rain. The wind came blowing in on the river and swept away some of my pots. But when it was over, I was able to take everything they threw at me and I only lost $30. I feel that tomorrow is going to be a sunny day and the poker gods will be smiling down on me.
7/28
I was on a little roll winning the past 4 day. I was looking to keep the streak going and also to getting off to a good start to the week. The cards however were not cooperating with me. I thought that I was playing pretty well but, everytime I would get up I would get knocked back down. The difference today was that I kept my composure and did not go on tilt. Which resulted in me only losing $1.40 in cash games today. That night I decided to switch things up a little and play in a tournament. I thought I played pretty well considering I was not getting many premium hands. I just missed cashing out. I have been wanting to start doing some tournaments and had fun playing in this one. So I ended up the day losing $11 in the tournament and $1.40 in cash games. That brings my losses for the day to $12.40. My total is now $846.11
